RADSports Freestyle Spectacular Chandler, Queensland.

Organised by Canberra rider Ricky Keech with Brisbane's Brook Vetier and held in the Sleeman’s Sports Complex carpark; RADSports Freestyle Spectacular ran parallel to the 1989 IBMXF World Titles in Chandler, Brisbane.
Sponsored by Kuta Lines and BMX Hotline. Co-sponsored by Vans, Maxxim, Kuwahara and Ozone.

“The Radsports Freestyle Spectacular was held at Chandler, Brisbane on 5th & 6th August simultaneously with the World BMX Titles in perfect sunny weather where around 80 keen freestylers travelled hundreds and hundreds of kilometers to participate. Entrants came from central Qld coast, Melbourne, A.C.T., Sydney, Newcastle and Wollongong, also Gosford and of course the local Brisbane entrants.” Source: Letter from Jim Brock to Barry Ransom.

Saturday, 5 August: Flatland. Riders were given 3 -5 minutes depending on their age category.
Sunday, 6 August: Ramp. 15 minute jam session for each age group.

This event is considered a pivotal moment in Australian Freestyle history.
